Colebrook Highlights
Only 130 miles from the Canadian border, Colebrook has always been considered the hub of this area. In 1877, it was considered the potato capital of the world, harvesting 120,000 bushels of potatoes per year which were mulled into potato starch for food applications, distilled whiskey or for color photography processing. Colebrook is known for its opulence and fantastic ski areas. Because of that, tourism has flourished. Years ago, grand hotels were built for people to escape the city, many of which are still open today. Beaver Brook Falls Natural Area, with its roadside falls, invites you to 7.3 acres of natural beauty of open land, hiking trails and gorgeous scenery. Wonderful restaurants, a sports bar, tavern pub, plus elegant and creative dining are here for your pleasure. Parsons Restaurant, where the reviews are all five-star, is considered the best place to eat in the North Country. Sounds good to me!
