Goshen Highlights

With a five mile-long mountain range, lush meadows, clear brooks, woodlands with a variety of wildlife, you will find this small New England town a wonderful, outdoor, recreational dream. Many lakes and hiking trails are here for you to enjoy and to bring home wonderful memories. Gunnison Lake, a man-made 60-acre lake is fondly called “Goshen Ocean” by the residents. The lake is tranquil for canoeing, bird watching, swimming, kayaking and, of course, picnicking. Province Trail, a challenging two-mile hike up the side of Mt. Sunapee will certainly be enjoyed by the avid hiker. When you explore the Ruth LeClair Memorial Trail you will find a gently winding path through woods with several stone walls, two pedestrian bridges and benches along the way if you need a rest. Restaurants are a few miles away, but you can stop in at Sanctuary Farm or Balthazar’s Ice Cream Shack and treat yourself to ice cream to cool off! Goshen is quiet and lovely.
