Lincoln Highlights
Settled in 1782 and named after Henry Fiennes Pelham-Clinton, who was the 9th Earl of Lincoln, this beautiful town offers more than one can possibly imagine. Being the second-largest town by area in NH, Lincoln has portions of land in the Franconia Notch State Park, White Mountains National Forest, the Appalachian Trails (which crosses to the northeast) and also had former villages of Stillwater and Zealand (sometimes known as Pullman). Landscapes surrounding the town gives a perfect backdrop for amazing views. Loon Mountain, with its height of 3065 feet, is better known as Loon Mountain Ski Resort. Usually only open for winter sports, it now has expanded into an all-season recreation area. Family fun can also be found throughout Lincoln. After 90 years, Clark’s Bears (formerly Clark’s Trading Post), with its bear show and ride through some of the White Mountains on the Central Railroad, is always fun for the family. Cool off at The Whale’s Tale Water Park which is another family favorite. Of course, with parks, hiking, train rides, winter sports -- there is always delicious food somewhere nearby. Restaurants -- oh yes! There are many to wet your appetite! Burgers, Italian, seafood, a pub brewery, sport bars -- take your pick. You won’t be disappointed.
