Woodstock Highlights
Considered “picture perfect” is what people call Woodstock (North Woodstock is included). The land is mostly lush forests, with the Appalachian Trail passing through the northwest corner. Lost River Reservation and Boulder Caves are something you will not want to miss. The caves are a protected area along a wild gorge in the White Mtns, featuring immense blocks of granite boulders, a ¾ mile boardwalk for your enjoyment, trails and ladders accessing the caves that you can walk or crawl into, plus the Giant Pot Hole, one of the deepest in the U.S. AND the infamous Lemon Squeezer and Bear Crawl. Cascade Falls and Park is a perfect location to see nature at its best. You can cool off in the water, lay on flat rocks or even jump off of the rocks into the water. Off the beaten path and up the Grandview Mtn to the summit are the remnants of Peeling on Mt Cilley, stonewalls and cellar holes of an 1860 settlement. The Ice Castles are here in the winter. People travel from all over to see this winter wonderland with thousands of icicles, sculptures, tunnels, slides, fountains and hours of family fun. Restaurants. Of course there is a wide variety of restaurants including breweries, a sports bar, Italian food, coffee and even pie spots! Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train Restaurant welcomes you to a restored train with vintage surroundings. Oh what fun!!
