This residential community is located in the center of the state. Being small and quaint, it offers many recreational opportunities year round and for its seasonal residents as well. Memorial Park, located in the center of town, with its lovely gazebo, invites you to stay for a while. The Ashland Railroad Station Museum, (1869) was built originally for passengers to separate them from the freight depot. Squam Lake and Little Lake, with 30 small islands, are waiting for loons, bald eagles and blue herons to nest. A beautiful covered bridge (Squam River Covered Bridge) was built in 1990 with town funds to replace a steel bridge. You won’t want to miss it!
