Learn more about Campton

While surveying land here, the first proprietors built a camp. Thus its name. (Well, that was easy!) This small, rural town is located in the beautiful foothills of the White Mountains. Nature enthusiasts will delight in the two state forests, one being Blair State Forest, with mixed hardwoods, nature studies, wetlands, skiing, fishing, as well as hiking trails and mountain biking trails. In fact, 23 trails (16 for mountain biking and 7 for hiking) will certainly be a challenge and definitely enjoyable. The second, Livermore Falls State Forest, with beaches along the Pemi River, will delight you with swimming, skiing, tubing, kayaking, and, of course, fishing. The Campton Mountain Ski Area makes its home here as well. WIth three covered bridges (Blair, Bump and Turkey Jim’s) proudly stand after many years, will beckon you to stay for a while. And, yes, an alluring waterfall too. Restaurants with great food (and reviews), a coffee house and roasters, pizzeria, hardware store and of course, a small town grocery store, Campton has everything you will need. Come for a visit. Stay for a day (or more).
