Learn more about Candia

Did you know that Candia was once known as Charmingfare because of its charming scenery? The final name of Candia came from the first NH colonial governor, naming it after an island in the Mediterranean Sea where he was a prisoner. A bronze Civil War Monument stands proudly in the town to honor all of Candia’s soldiers. The wonderful Fitts Museum allows you to view a diverse collection (18th-20th century) of art, instruments, tools, documents, household items and more. Another ‘must see’ is the Candia Vineyards which offers a winery and boutique farm which specializes in many varieties of grapes. At Charmingfare Farm you can enjoy pony, hay and tractor rides and even a petting zoo. A waterpark, a rope course and even a zip line is waiting for you at Candia Springs Adventure Park. Plan to stay a few days in this town. There is so much to see and do!
