With its gold-domed State House, dating from 1819, it is the oldest capitol building in the nation in which the state legislative branches meet in the original chambers. The Visitor Center, Hall of Flags, Capitol Center for the Arts (music, comedy, dance, theater), the NH Historical Society, Library of NH History — the list goes on and on. The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center is definitely something that you won’t want to miss with its interactive space-themed exhibits and a planetarium. Susan N. McLane Audubon Center offers great trails for hiking and seeing wildlife. Some of the earliest houses, at the northern end of Main Street, can still be found in Concord along with many lovely boutiques, unique shops, a huge variety of restaurants and fantastic places to rest your head.
