Learn more about Haverhill
Mostly farmland, this quiet town has three villages. Haverhill Corner is the historic center and its commercial center is Woodsville. Bedell Bridge State Park is open all four seasons for picnicking, walking, fishing and adventures. Bedell Bridge, an historic, two-span bridge that was rebuilt many times after a fire, flood, washout and also wind destroyed, makes its home here. Left over abutments can be found in the park and they are captivating. Oliverian Valley Wildlife Preserves, with its three wildlife managed areas (working cattle and horse farm) stands on a tract of certified forest, with two organic gardens and miles of trails for hiking, biking and riding. Haverhill’s District of Mountain Lakes, which is a year round recreation community, has beaches, two lakes, 75 acres of open water, nature trails, and so much to explore. The oldest documented covered bridge in the country (Haverhill Bath Bridge, built in 1829) still stands and is in use today. A great variety of restaurants are here to wet our appetite as well. A lovely town. Stop by and see for yourself.
