Located between Lake Winnipesaukee and Lake Winnisquam, Laconia is surrounded by captivating mountains and cool, refreshing lakes. Lake Winnisquam, offers clean, clear water for fishing and boating excursions, a large public beach, and of course, refreshing coastal air to breathe in. Lake Winnipesaukee, the largest lake in the state of NH, is approximately 21 miles long. With 264 islands, it is breathtaking to say the least. The MS Mount Washington flagship’s home port is in Laconia. There are numerous hiking trails in and around the beautiful White Mountains for your enjoyment. Soothing train rides, provided by Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad, gives passengers an excursion along the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee to relax while taking in the sights of beautiful resort homes. There is always something happening in Laconia, so you will want to plan to stay for at least a few days in one of the many grand hotels. And remember, you are near the water so restaurants with seafood are plentiful!!
