Merrimack means Sturgeon — fish in plenty of supply for the native Americans in the river that bears its name. This town has four villages; Reeds Ferry, Thorntons Ferry, Souhegan Village and South Merrimack. Many historical parks, conservation areas, bridges, houses and sculptures are throughout the town, marked with a plaque of history for your enjoyment. Simonds Rock, the second largest erratic boulder in NH, a landmark used by the native Americans and early settlers, can also be found here. Stowell Covered Bridge, a one lane covered bridge that visitors can drive through is located in Merrimack. Anheuser-Busch, with its famous Clydesdale horses and brewery tours, the Merrimack Premium Outlets, food truck events, wonderful restaurants and hotels, all are here waiting for you.
