Milford, also known as the “Granite Town” and is absolutely charming. As you enter this lovely town, the Milford Oval catches your eyes which are drawn to a gazebo/bandstand that invites you to stop, rest and visit for a while. Once known as the home to numerous granite quarries, (some of the granite was used for pillars for the U.S. Treasury building in Washington, DC, and can also be seen on the back of the American $10 bill) there is a multitude of history here. Once a stop for the Underground Railroad, the home for the author Harriet E.
