The historic Samuel Morey Memorial Bridge, listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, with its steel-through arch was built in 1937-1938 to replace the older wooden bridge. Spanning 432 feet, rising 85 feet above the roadway.. . this is a sight to remember. The town of Orford is close-knit. Social gatherings are held in the The Orford Social Library. The library is a place for the community to connect. Public meeting rooms, books, and historical archives are available.
