Learn more about Pelham
Settled in 1722, Pelham’s rich history has led to a wealth of information, and has allowed residents to live their daily lives in a town with a combination of old fashioned values and modern day innovations. Known as a “sleepy bedroom town,” it began primarily as a farming community until World War II, when rapid growth in population and industry took hold and has yet to slow down. Abbott Bridge, NH’s oldest, double arched stone bridge, is a reminder of the rich history. The Butler Monument, which adorns the center of town, the Harris Pelham Inn, the town’s oldest run business, both bring history to the forefront. Restoring of historical buildings has taken place and the town is very proud of the work that has been done. Many miles of protected trails and abundant bodies of water provide hours of recreational fun. Take a break in the beautiful gazebo and enjoy the lovely surroundings of Pelham.
