White Lake State Park, is a public park for camping, picnicking, hiking and recreation around a glacier formed lake which holds more adventures. Chinook Kennels makes its home here. It raises sled dogs for Admiral Richard Byrd Antarctic Expeditions (search and rescue units). Restaurants with home-cooked meals, wings and burgers, a cafe with a general store, all will welcome you warmly. Tamworth is definitely worth a few days to explore.
