Learn more about Waterville Valley

Waterville Valley is an island in the middle of the White Mountain National Forest. Prior to the 1940s, farming and lumbering communities made up this area. Before 1966 it was primarily a summer destination resort where families came to vacation in the Waterville Inn or the many cottages in the north end of the Valley. Eventually the hotel began to attract winter guests. In 1965, the process of a year-round resort had begun on Mt. Tecumseh. Although Waterville Valley has established itself as a premier winter vacation resort, it has also become known for its summer activities. Included in those activities are a sporty 9-whole golf course, tennis courts, Corcoran’s Pond with many water activities, mountain biking, hiking trails and several great fishing holes. A fantastic athletic club, with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, indoor tennis and handball courts, and weight rooms are available. Restaurants, pubs, lounges and bars for your dining pleasure are here, as well as great shopping and of course, lovely hotels. All are waiting to welcome you to this beautiful destination.
