Learn more about Wilmot

Everywhere you look in Wilmot you will see glimpses of the past. Two hundred years of buildings, foundations, mill races, agriculture, commerce and great stone walls still surround early pastures. Prior to 1807, Wilmot was a part of New London. Residents have been fortunate to have a library which was originally operated in private homes since 1898. It has been moved twice and in 1972, the town acquired the one-room schoolhouse and many changes have occurred since. Being near to the town of Warner, Wilmot shares Mt. Kearsarge with many of the same activities such as hiking, skiing, mountain climbing and magnificent scenery in every direction that you look. On a very clear day, skyscrapers in the city of Boston (80 miles away) are visible from the fire tower on the summit. Restaurants and lodging can be found in surrounding towns. Wilmot might be small, but you can count on it being big on friendliness.
