Plymouth Highlights

CALLING ALL HISTORY BUFFS. This little village (Woodstock-Quechee region of the state) is full of history, especially in the Plymouth Notch area. Being the birthplace, homestead, and church attended, this is also where our 30th President, Calvin Coolidge took the presidential oath of office. There are guided tours with beautiful mountain views, on a 2,000 acre state park of open fields and woods. Having summer camps, many lovely inns, a lake, a yummy cheese factory. Plymouth Cheese, the second oldest cheese maker in VT, delights us by giving out free samples and letting us watch their cheese being made. There are snowmobile tours during the winter and a Folk and Blues Festival every year during Coolidge Homestead Days during the warmer months. Amherst Lake ~ pristine water ~ wind surfers ~ sailors ~ brisk winds for their delight will captivate your enjoyment. The lake also has vacation rentals. The Salt Ash Inn, a quaint, super cozy 19th century inn, with a restaurant and bar, converted from the original 1830 town post office and general store, is definitely a place you would want to spend the night. Pack your bag and get ready to visit (or stay for awhile) in Plymouth. It is wonderful!!
